Well, not you specifically. I was wondering if anybody understood what the supposed clean joke was. Obviously the racist explanation is that Obama is a monkey. But I wonder if there was also a non-racist way to interpret it.
Ie I am surprised that a NYC newspaper would print a cartoon that only had a racist explanation.

well, readers where supposed to associate the escaped monkey episode with the bill that was was so stupid that could have been written only by a monkey. Like, the escaped monkey writes a stimulus bill before it gets shot by the police.
