1. franz_josef: Convinced, in his patriotic but miopic fashion, that the national interest required the stifling of domestic conflicts, he failed to learn in time that these conflicts were not amenable to his favored manipulative administrative 'solutions'. His regime was authoritarian but lacked a political ideology; its dilettantish administration oscillated planlessly between bureaucratic rigidity and opportunistic improvisation.
   
   Это ведь совсем не о том, о ком трудно не подумать, прочитав эти строки. Это Александр Карагеоргиевич, король Югославии, и его "королевская диктатура" (1929-34). Когда Восточной Европе надоест повторяться?
